Council For The Indian School Certificate Education (CISCE) conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) board examination for Class 10 students and Indian School Certificate (ISC) board examination for Class 12 students. There are many schools in India that are affiliated with the ICSE board.

The academic year has been divided into two semesters. Usually the Semester 1 exams are conducted in November/December and Semester 2 exams in the month of April. The council has not fixed any textbooks in particular, they provide a list of books from schools and choose and follow.

The International Baccalaureate(IB) Diploma Programme(DP) is a two years educational programme designed for students falling under the age group of 16-19 years. The purpose of this programme is to facilitate students with excellent qualifications that are internationally accepted.

There are many schools which are affiliated to the International Baccalaureate in India and abroad.

This paper will consist 4 board questions, they are :

  1. Composition (450-500 words)
  2. Letter
  3. Unseen Passage
  4. Grammar

Time duration is 120 minutes

? English ll

This paper is divided into 3 sections (Section-A, Section-B & Section –C). Each section will have 2 questions. Time duration is 120 minutes.

? Mathematics

There will be two sections Section-A will consist 4 questions for 10 marks each (4x10marks = 40 marks)
Section-B will consist of 7 questions out of which 4 are to be answered , each carries 10 marks.
Time duration 150 minutes.

? Mathematics

There will be two sections Section-A will consist 4 questions for 10 marks each (4x10marks = 40 marks)
Section-B will consist of 7 questions out of which 4 are to be answered , each carries 10 marks.
Time duration 150 minutes.

? Hindi

There will be two sections Section-A will consist (Essay of 250 words, Letter and Unseen Passage)
Section-B will have questions from Hindi literature and any 4 questions are to be answered.
Time duration 180 minutes.

? Physics

There will be two sections Section-A will consist 4 questions for 10 marks each (4x10marks = 40 marks)
Section-B will consist of 6 questions out of which 4 are to be answered , each carries 10 marks.
Time duration 90 minutes.

? Chemistry

There will be two sections Section-A will consist 4 questions for 10 marks each (4x10marks = 40 marks)
Section-B will consist of 6 questions out of which 4 are to be answered , each carries 10 marks.
Time duration 90 minutes.

? Biology

There will be two sections Section-A will consist 4 questions for 10 marks each (4x10marks = 40 marks)
Section-B will consist of 6 questions out of which 4 are to be answered , each carries 10 marks.
Time duration 90 minutes.

? History & Civics

There two sections which are further divided into part-1 and part-2 Section –A (30 marks)
Part-1 deals with short answer type question from civics portion (10 marks)
Part-2 deals with short answer type question from history portion (20 marks)
Section-B (50 marks)
Part-1 deals with long answer type question from civics portion (20 marks)
Part-2 deals with long answer type question from history portion (30 marks)
Time duration 120 minutes.

Part 1

  1. Map pointing (10 marks)
  2. Survey map and its interpretations(20 marks)
  3. Unseen Passage
  4. Grammar

Part 2

Part 2 will consist of 9 questions out of which 5 questions are to be answered to obtain 50 marks.
Time duration is 120 minutes.

? E.V.S

The part-1 has 4 mandatory questions and part-2 has 5 long answer type questions out of which 4 are to be answered.
Time duration is 120 minutes.

ISC Class 12

ISC examinations are divided into two semesters with approximately 50% of the syllabus being covered in every semester. In ISC Class 11 and 12, English is a compulsory subject for all the three streams- Science, Commerce and Arts. The elective subjects of all the streams are as follows:

ISC Marking Scheme

? ISC class 12 board marking scheme depends on the preferred streams and their respective subjects. The minimum passing marks required for the class 12 board exam is 40% in each subject as well as aggregate marks. A student should score more than 33% in 5 subjects except English to qualify.

? The internal assessments are of 20 and 30 marks based on the subjects and the topic is prescribed by the school. In many subjects, 30 marks are awarded for internal assessment/practical and 70 marks for the written exam.

? The students have to take up 80 marks theoretical examination for both English and mathematics instead of 100.The remaining 20 marks will be assigned to project work where the students can choose topics.

? Elective English, Classical languages, foreign languages and English (1 & 2) have no internal assessment and the written exam is of 100 marks.
